This 7-page printable tutorial teaches you how to make a paracord belt. If you are an experienced paracord crafter and are ready to move on to something bigger, this is the perfect next step. Be advised, this project takes some time, but it is entirely worth it!

- 550 Paracord or equivalent (120 ft.)
- Fid Needle (optional)
- Metal Belt Buckle
- Scissors
- Lighter

Materials:
- 550 Paracord (See "Determining Length" section.)
- Belt Buckle (You can use the one in the tutorial or browse all of our buckles.)
- Scissors, or other cutting instrument
- Lighter for sealing the ends
- Fid needle, if you so choose
Determining length
You will need two sets of center strands (see page 1). To calculate the length for your belt, take your waist measurement in inches and double it. Then add 24 inches for a little extra length to your belt and some room for error. (waist + waist + 24") You will need two pieces this length.
You will also need two colors for weaving (they can both be the same color if you prefer). Each color will need to be 1 foot per every inch of your waist measurement. Add 6 feet to each of these, so that the belt will be 6 inches longer than your waist. (waist x 12 + 6')
If you want to make a retention loop, you will need an additional 3 feet of paracord.
So in total you will need 5 pieces:
- 2x (waist + waist + 24")
- 2x (waist x 12 + 6' )
- 1x 3'
Things to consider:
Time: Depending on your experience level, this project can take as much as 8 hours or more to complete. Even for someone who is familiar with the concepts used, this project will take quite a few hours.

- Depending on your preference, you can use the back side of this belt as the front for different look. Just flip your buckle upside down before you start.
- If you want a less bulky retention strap, you can use coreless paracord. (Paracord with the center strands removed.) If you don't want to do that work yourself, you can buy coreless paracord here.
